I think the option like when we hold Ctrl+Shift or Alt+Shift and then Drag the mouse it forces rhino to make selection (or sub-object selection of the highlighted object), i saw this same problem solved by Moi 3D by this option. Even the SelBrush command select all the crossing object which i dont want. you will say to use selection filter but this will add an extra steps just for selecting objects. i will manage to do things but for better workflow of rhino users i think this is helpful.
Did you try just holding down Alt and window selecting left to right? You can limit your selection to only what’s in the window that way without selecting anything else. However, it might select the curve as well as the points, unless you limit the selection with the filter.
