Curtain Wall_Feature Request

Hello,

It would be an important addition to VA to be able to add support elements not only extrusion profiles that run along the cells.

One example of many curtain wall types where such a feature would be useful!

Everything in these images is possible except the in between mettalic clasp that holds the glass in place?

I wonder if we could just add an extra element much like the support sub element but instead of a profile you just pick a block? this would allow for a very simple but powerful set up for curtain walls details.

Also I have a found a bug, if a support element thickness is below 0.03 it either doesn’t let me input a number below or allows it but the geometry doesn’t generate in 3D. This not great since sealants and thin glass elements tend to have low thickness, my file is at 0.01 tolerance.

Hi @lourencovp I add your vote for this request to have a new component in Curtain walls that acts as a cell join support and can be created from blocks.

Can you share the file where this happens? It must have to do with the custom profile you are using. Since that looks like a rectangular profile, can you try it with a regular “rectangular” profile, setting the desired dimensions? I’ve just tested it and it works fine:
