Cubic Inches in Rhino?!

I’m having trouble trying to find the cubic inches of my closed polysurface! Any help would be appreciated>

use the _Volume command.

via menu: Analyze-> Mass Properties-> Volume

Thanks Jeff I knew it had to be easy. It then says Volume = 0.14276768 (+/- 1.9e-08) cubic inches, how the hell do I read this?

.143 cubic inches… give or take an insanely small amount.

is your object meant to be bigger than that?
(.143 cubic inches is very small… seems like it’s something to be measured in mm)

Note that the dash version of the command -Volume will give you acces to measurement in other units from the file units. If you want to set different units, do not preselect your object, run -Volume, and check the desired unit system on the command line, then select your object(s) and OK.

hey mitch.
just to jar your memory a bit, it works like that without using the dashed version

(preselect gives model units or previously set unit… no preselection gives the option to change units)

Ah, OK, thanks… Some of that stuff works with and some without… never remember which.
