Create sections from geometry to laser cut

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to model a volume to be constructed in a fiberglass type material.
This volume is to attach to a concrete structure through an intermediary steel structure.
Basically I’m trying to find the limit of the “hollow” area (painted blue) between fiberglass and concrete, and then generate sections distanced 1 meter apart from each other.

The idea was to offset subds from Rhino (Pufferfish>Offsrf) with a distance of 5.1cm and then to use the component contour; intersect with planes or similar in order to obtain sections distanced 1meter apart, then somehow isolate the inner curve (curve 2 in yellow) to be laser cut and therefore serve as structure of the volume.

The main problem I have is that in some cases solid union won’t work (perhaps because of overlaping faces), and I can’t seem to merge the overlaping faces (purple circle).

Is there a way I can obtain the section with the blue area shown in the 1st image in Grasshopper? Or do I have to go back to Rhino and change the base geometry?
