CPU + GPU (+ Holomark2_R6+R7)

In the last few months I upgraded my GPU from an old Quadro 4000 to an RTX 2080ti.

There has been a noticeable performance boost but I still get laggy panels and dialogs esp on really big models, and fairly show Layouts.

My question is, will upgrading the entire computer make much of a difference? Does a faster CPU increase the performance of the GPU and display?

I just ran Holomark2_R6. Here are the scores (full results below):
