I’m trying to convert this mesh to a solid but nothing is working. I can look at it and see it’s mostly a rectangle, but I can’t merge the triangles together to get a rectangle. If I select a bunch of triangles on the top flat surface and do boundingbox around them, there is no change in Z, so they are all flat, yet I can’t combine them together. I must be missing something.
I’ve tried MeshToNurb, and Mesh Boolean Union. Anyone have any ideas how this can be done? Maybe there is some way to loosen up the tolerance for a conversion to get at least the large rectangle surfaces to merge together? any ideas?
I guess there isn’t an easy way to automatically convert the mesh to surfaces. Meshes are confusing to me. It looks like a lot of triangles on flat planes, but I can’t work with it at all.
Is there some trick to rebuilding the details. How can I figure out the center of the cylinders or the exact diameter? When I try to do things like find the end of one of the little triangles, I can’t even snap to it.
@Pascal Thank you!!! Vertex is the secret thing that makes it work!! I set OSnap to End thinking it would find the end of the lines that make the triangles, but snapping to END can’t snap to anything not even the corners of the rectangle.
