the current way of assignment of key and value takes time and tab-switching between which is not suitable when we work fast mainly using command aliases so i think there should be some command which have following sub-command to work with-
- type- as the name suggest typing key and value
- Pick- pick existing object key-value
- Import- prepare csv file and assign the folder location si rhino redirect here when we choose import option
this way we can make aliases and combine it with Sellast command to quickly add properties to the scene objects. once the objects have assigned key and value, we can select any way we want and
- Assign layers to selected objects
- select object and with HighlightObjectlayers command, toggle on/off, change print color in different detail views as per the need.
- Hide /isolate to work on them seperately.
- import objects and assign key-import and value- Software name
- Assign them IFC properties, map them using speckle to quickly share with other.
- Select objects and use exportSelected to export object with same key-value to seperate rhino file.
I mean selection may not be as important for single object design like jewellery or product but for architectural work it is crucial.
Today, large chunk of internet data is managed through tags and key-value are the tags of rhino. it should be fluid in terms of usability to make it a habit. After that there is a possibility to setup aliases or macro.
Anyway, this is my view on it, share your views about it.
