I am trying to figure out why some layers I create in V8 automatically assign a custom material color that matches the layer color, and some do not. The image below shows several layers that were all created the exact same way. I simply made a new layer and assigned a color to it. I did nothing at all with the materials. But some layers have a matching custom material to the color and some do not. I have checked every setting I can think of. Is there something that makes it such that new layers automatically get assigned a new material with a matching color? I prefer it that way for rendering.
