ClippingPlane in R8 awefully slow

Hi, I’m working with a lot of building size meshes. Ie all interior walls of a hospital etc. They can look like the screenshot.

I often use a clippingplane to see a plan drawing but since R8 it hangs for up to 10-40 seconds every time i move the plane!

I just opened R7 to compare - there’s was no delay at all in R7!

I figure out it’s perhaps the solid fill inside the cut, but this should be auto turned off in case delay is >2 seconds and then with a force-run-once button in the settings of the clipping plane etc.

Without section: R8 = 55 fps, R7 = 60 fps
With section: R8 = 25 fps, R7 = 60 fps (Edit: This is with fill on. Without fill, 60fps) But why not cache that fill as a mesh so we end up with 60fps again.

It’s ONE joined mesh with 400k faces.

I even tried turning off some of the fancy settings in but no luck:

Played with display mode settings:

Show fills adds ~20-30 seconds delay
Show edges adds ~3-5 seconds delay (I compared to R7, show edges add 0 s delay)

Thank you for your report, could you share this 3dm file?

yes I’ll send the mesh to tech@mcneel.com ? I’ve seen the same issue on several projects (also smaller than the one above which is my biggest atm).

Thank you, you also can upload it from here.

I have logged this issue with our development engineers, and thank you so much.
