Classic furniture 3d modeling with Rhino 5

In what way are your models used in the creation of the furniture? Primarily for visualization or is there any other digital output like dimensioned drawings or CAD/CAM?

Very cool one way or the other, using digital tools for traditional craft is always amazing to see!

Hello
I will give a full explanation…
All the work that I have shared or will share with you here is produced. Until several years ago, modern or neo-classic or classic and luxury furniture was produced by hand, but since CNC machines were widely used in this field, 3D software began to be used to design these products. I started working in this field 15 years ago and used Rhino, Zbrush and Maya software and I make most of the models with Rhino software, the reason is because of the comfort of its environment for the user, which makes the work speed faster than software like 3dsMax. sofa service that takes about 1 to 2 months to complete, each part of the sofa service, for example, a sofa, is divided into several parts, such as a base or a handle, etc. from each of these parts, the STL output is taken for a software such as Powermill, and in that software, the machining method of each part is determined according to its shape, and finally, the output is taken for the CNC machine, for the carpentry part, and for each The piece of woodworking template is given to the carpenter to cut the required wood according to it and finally prepare it for CNC, after the 3D design is created by this method using the device on the wood, the carpenter connects all the parts and the sofa is made and sent to the painting part.

Ah, so you’re using it for a whole CAD/CAM workflow. Very cool! It’d be awesome to see any photos of the milling process and the finished furniture.

I don’t have a photo of the machining of the parts right now, but maybe in the next few days I may share a photo
