Civil 3d hard crashes when selecting object in Rhino

Hello, so stoked about this product and looks forward to the stable release!

Description:

I open Rhino 8 from Civil 3d 2027 (see specs below). I draw an object (for instace a polyline or a cone). If I then select the created object, this leads to Civil 3d crashes with this error message:

Autodesk Civil 3D 2027 - [Drawing1.dwg]: acad.exe - Systemfeil

Exception Processing Message 0xc0000005 - Unexpected

PS

The same happens when trying out Rhino 9

Hi @Eirik_Kaasbøll_Andre , Thanks for reporting, I will have a look into this and get back to you!

Tom

There is/was an issue with the NET 10 builds for Civil 3d and the AutoCAD preview, this issue affects all Civil3d installations 2025+ which have been updated to NET 10 in Autodesk’s latest round of updates. This does not affect any AutoCAD builds.

Its not entirely clear why this only affecting NET 10 and Civil3d as the exception is coming from deep inside Civil 3d transaction infrastructure, but we can improve the way we are handing the transactions for preview materials which will address this issue.

Look out for V1.3.2 shortly which will contain the fix, and do let us know if its still an issue.

Thanks

Tom

Thanks for your swift reply. Looking forward to testing it further when new version is released.

@Eirik_Kaasbøll_Andre,
V1.3.2 is now available, let me know if it fixes the issue!

Hello.

The crash is gone:) Thanks. Both for net 8 and 9.

Question: Is there a way to directly bake from Rhino?

BR

Eirik K Andresen

Not currently without grasshopper, but the grasshopper bake component does take rhino geometry so it should be as simple as assign your objects to a Geometry Param and then adding a baking component. In the image, the top is the vanilla bake component - good for a one time use, the bottom is the tracked bake component, which will track changes in the rhino object and keep updating the AutoCAD version:

I see, thanks!
