Most of our furniture catalog is modeled directly in Rhino as native NURBS - no mesh conversion. Here is the LC4 chaise longue: continuous, editable surfaces, shown first as shaded geometry and then in a rendered interior.
Curious how other Rhino users evaluate surface quality when sourcing models - what do you look at first?
I typically start in shaded mode, and look at patch layout and ispoarm counts. (making sure they are simply not turned off) If either of those are crazy it waves a bit of a red flag.
I then look at the rendered mode and see if the render mesh has any issues, then I run emap, and zebra to check for any thing that shaded and rendered mode may have hidden.
finally I check for naked edges, bad surfaces and anything that would make the model not watertight or have any data transfer issues.
