Can't replace block with a linked block

Hi.

I have redefined a block from local to linked (so I wouldn’t have to manually copy/paste them between models) but can’t paste/replace a block to a linked block.

Why doesn’t the existing block change to a linked block?

Is this intentional?

Shouldn’t a dialog message with an option be the default?

It’s a considerable work to have to constantly be manually selecting blocks from the non-searchable list and selecting files in the often distante folder.

How would a go about changing blocks from local to linked in a large model collection?

Of course, the incentive to use local blocks is mainly to be able to quickly edit them in the “appropriate context”.

Thanks

PS:

Would also be great if “embedded and linked” blocks after you locally edit them (because you don’t want to block your model and await for a rhino instance to open it so you can edit it without the context) would at least keep the information about the linked file.

Then you would just press some “export and re-link” button instead of doing all the file searching.
