Can't open gh file - Chunk 'Definition' cannot be resolved

I’ve got a really important script I’m working on for uni, was working on it just fine last night. This morning my pc updated itself, and now I can’t open this particular file. I definitely saved and closed it properly before shutting down, that’s a hard earned habit of mine these days. I just want someone to tell me it’s not corrupted and that 3 weeks haven’t gone to waste…

Also grasshopper and rhino have forgotten all of my custom display settings (bg colour, other colours, toolbars, display icons in gh, etc.).

Any ideas as to what’s going on? The image below is what I get when I try to open the file.

What is the file size? if the file is 0 kb there it didn’t get saved properly.

You can drag an drop to the top left corner and examine the contents.

There might be something useful in the AutoSave location. If there was a ‘normal’ gh it will typically ask you if you want to load the autosave on the next opening of Grasshopper.

This has just happened to me. Did you find a way to deal with it? There is no autosave with the file as the file was saved properly

Autosave happens regardless. So it worth checking the folder.

I checked the autosave and there was nothing there. What was really weird though was I opened the grasshopper script on my laptop and it did open correctly but I still can’t access it on my desktop. Any thoughts?

Hi Jack -

Just to make sure, do you get an error message when you try opening that on the desktop?

Yep it’s very strange. An error message as mentioned in the original post in my desktop but no error message on my laptop.
