Can't exclude element from link file in RVT 2024

As image shown below,
with the same script run in both 2022 and 2024, while using Element Geometry it can’t exclude elements from link file (works in 2022).

Error message:

  1. RevitAPI: Document is a linked file. Transactions can only be used in primary documents (projects or families.)

Just wondering, is the issue just something can be fixed in the next RIR release, or it might be hard due to the deeper level difference betweet 2022 and 20204?

It could alters the work flow from my side.

This feature relay on this trick to work.

This use to work even on linked models before Revit 2024.
Unfortunately this has changed in the last release and is no longer available on linked models.

hummm, that’s indeed unfortunately.
From my algorithm it has to exclude certain elements to do the rest.
Could there be some “last chance” workaround maybe…?
Otherwise I’m gonna rewrite certain parts of the algorithm…

I know, is a pity.
This was reported to Autodesk and looks like is like this by design.
I’m not aware of any workaround :pray:.
