Hi guys, I had a V7 crash and thought the changes to the file was lost.
So I opened V7 again and while it loaded I clicked Open in the “last used pop up window” since the file wasn’t showing there, and this went quick, so after clicking the file to open Rhino prompted me with a “Rhino didn’t close properly, do you want to open the recovery? This is your last chance etc…” and I clicked “OK” of course, and the recover opened, but suddenly disappeared and the original (the one I chose from the open dialog in the beginning, remember?) opened instead… so recover lost…
And odd situation and difficult to replicate I am sure, but at least now you know
PS! Found the file in the hidden autosave folder though, so all good
Except that, as something likely to happen very infrequently to any given user and thus will be a surprise every time it happens, the whole process should be more transparent and reassuring so the user doesn’t need to seek medical help when it does happen.
Unless, of course, this is a bug and not the way it’s supposed to work.
Is this still the case? I keep losing track of where the autosave is on 6 and 7. Or at least, the autosave is suspiciously empty after a crash, even if autosaving every 10 mins. Or have I not correctly understood the feature?
