Hello,
There is this thing that curves should be displayed as points when looked at perpendicularly. @wim suggested that since 8.X this should be the case but it is only very partially.
I suggest you (mc neel) finally make this right for eternity.
With primitive set up like this you can test different scenarios and make sure it works for all the cases.
test clipping plane curve.3dm (129.9 KB)
Current problems:
-curves are displayed as points but only in raster mode
-when clipping plane has depth option set on it is not visible even in raster mode
-even in raster mode the dot is somehow broken to half dot?
What you should resolve (not incrementally but as one package of enhancements):
-it displays correctly in vector and raster mode the same way
-try curves which are included in blocks
-test if it behaves correctly far from origin
-test if it behaves correctly with clipping planes also with depth set on
-test if the curve is displayed correctly with clipping plane meaning the sectioned part should be displayed as dot or ellipsed dot depending if the cut is perp to curve or in angle and the rest of the rest of the curve behing clipping plane is also displayed with correct print width
-i suppose only correct behaviour is to imagine a curve with print width is basically a solid pipe with given diameter (print width) and treat its displaying accordingly with conjunction with clipping plane and different views
