Working on UV mapping of a J3 CUB tail wheel for Soaring Simulator.
To export the mesh and work on the UV mapping, we need to weld the hard edges of a mesh without losing vertex normal.
After welding the hard edges and rebuilding mesh normals, the edges are average (round vertex normals). And we need welded UVmapping mesh and hard edges at the same time.
But as I understand that is not possible in Rhino.
It is possible in other software.
In the UV Editor, the UV mesh looks welded but is not the case when exported. When exported the mesh is unwelded on the hard edges.
