Block instances cannot be set as geometry in Grasshopper?

I’m trying to plant trees on the terrain with tree block instances, but unlike other geometries such as surfaces, extrusions, and curves, I can’t select a geometry for block instances?
How can I use a block instance in Grasshopper?

I’m asking about using the block instance itself in Grasshopper rather than defining or changing it.
