Trying to copy this joint for a project. Hoping to use a couple On Stage clamps like in the pic.

Could you have a tube extruded as the piece looks, then make a blend to match it . Then discard the extrusion?ā-Mark
Hello - Iād split the length of the deformed part out as a separate surface. Make a new surface from the remaining end and a new curve that is squished but close to the same overall length as the circumference of the tube. Loft between these curves - maybe with Rebuild. Then you can squish the interior points around, add knots if needed etc; as long as the circumference of the tube remains about constant, it should look reasonably convincing.
