I’m trying to bake the analysis results from a simple frame analysis back to Rhino so that I can incorporate them into a finished drawing. I can bake the diagrams without a problem via the beamview and they are retained when I close grasshopper but the values are not?
Hi Steve, the results of the analysis are never “saved” in a definition. You will need to always recalculate them when you reopen Rhino and Grasshopper.
So it’s impossible to bake them in along with the diagrams?
Are you referring to the results of the legend? Or which results specifically are you referring to?
No, to output on, say, bending moment diagrams (see enclosed image). I can bake the diagram into Rhino which persists when I close GH, but not the values.
No the numbers cannot be baked, I have added this as a feature request - we could look into enabling it in certain components. REQUEST: Baking Numerical Results in BeamView/ShellView · Issue #134 · karamba3d/K3D_NightlyBuilds
Please feel free to add any requests.
Thanks Matthew.
Just to give some context, I’m experimenting in using the Rhino/Karamba workflow to produce finished calculation and drawing documents, at least for smaller projects. The recent Karamba update that allows for writing of calculations would help, I’m thinking.
My previous workflow meant making a Rhino model (with VisualArq) for drawing work then building a separate model in Scia Engineer for analysis and design. Just trying to get to the destination a bit more efficiently!
