Atrocious panning with floating viewport opened in the background

Hello.
With an object selected in a complex drawing with floating viewport opened and any other viewport is focused, panning with middle mouse is extremely laggy.

Taskmanager reports only 8% CPU usage, 0% GPU usage in safe mode and 1% CPU, 10%GPU in normal, panning in focused floating viewport brings GPU usage to 15%

Hi Vano,

i wasn’t able to repeat this here with a floating viewport open and a group selected, panning stays smooth in the main view. Can you post the file from the video? Also, does the lag go away if you deselect everything, or if you just turn the gumball off with the selection still active? Thanks!

We should also try running in SafeMode to see if something here is affecting things.

The video was made in safe mode. Also, in the video shown that there is no lag in main view when nothing is selected, or when panning inside floating viewport with or without selection.
It seems it updates the view only after mouse stopped for a moment.

Turning off gumball actually fixes the issue.

Not able to repeat, but i’m on a newer version. Do you have a Rhino 9 license? Its now either 90 evaluation of Rhino 9 or requires a license.
