AR App To View Models From iPad or Smart Phone?

Hello Forum, are there any good apps out there to view a model in augmented reality on either an iPad or smart phone etc ? One which can hold materials and textures too ?? I do a lot of furniture and related products and would be great to be able to view them in AR for a client :+1::grin: , tia

A quick peek into the iOS App Store only initially brings up ā€œ3D Model Viewer - AR Viewā€

First two screenshots show a custom-background (static) with what appears like uncolored models. Neither placed properly in the scene with vanishing perspective. The third screenshot of a lone power drill looks like it has solid material colors applied but no background. The first ā€œFeaturesā€ it lists is ā€œsupport AR, 3D modeā€ but none of the screenshots really seem to prove it.

Details only list generalized polygon formats accepted as: 3DS, OBJ, PLY, Blend, STL, 3MF. Rhinoā€™s 3DM Nurbs isnā€™t among them.

And it looks like a $6 in-app purchase will need to be made in order to test it out properly with no-ads, large file import, etc. Ponder that purchase carefully given the mediocre reviews.

Just searching ā€œAR Viewerā€, Adobe Aero comes up. It appears to be a more legit Augmented Reality viewer -AND- claims to allow importing 3D files generated by Maya and Cinema4D. The app will force your viewing clients to register for an Adobe ID and get (purchase?) Creative Cloud Membership.

Thereā€™s also something called Torch AR Augmented Reality Design that looks like a deep rabbit hole to dive down.

Check out SimLab Mobile AR/VR Viewer at https://www.simlab-soft.com/technologies/simlab-mobile-viewer.aspx.

Donā€™t have any personal experience with this, but itā€™s been around in discourse before.

Iā€™ve been using it for the last months, it is amazing. just remember to lock your models in rhino if you gonna use the real time sync so you donā€™t move stuff around by accident when trying to pan and zoom.

It has support for trackers too, via grasshopper
