I have an excellent use case for off loading some processing in my GH based plugin to Hops.
However I want to keep my code cross platform and locally computed only.
Is there any plans to add local Hops for MacOS?
Cheers

Hey - look at that, bumped back to the top.
Still very interested in this, as the use case on my side definitely still exists.
With Rhino Compute now available/running on Linux, is there any plan to support local/native operation on macOS?
My use case is this:
In KaroroCAD, my kite design plugin, there is an “unrolling” process where the 3D kite design is flattened into the final 2D fabric panels. Depending on the design, this process can take up to 20 seconds to fully compute.
That’s slow enough that I currently don’t run it live - it’s more of an end-of-design process.
However, if I could use HOPS/Rhino.Compute locally on macOS, I could potentially:
All of this is already possible on Windows today.
However, one of the major selling points of KaroroCAD is that it operates natively on macOS, so having a supported local Compute workflow there would be hugely valuable.
Waiting in hope of a macOS solution.
Cheers,
DK
My understanding that there are limitations that make Rhino.Inside unavailable on the macOS, hops can be run but must point to a Cloud server.
There is a dev youtrack (private) that isn’t stale for this but not far along enough to make any promises for Rhino 9. This is a feature requested by various 3rd party cross platform developers and will continue to get the attention it deserves.
