I’m aware of the work on RhinoCycles (which looks awesome, btw!) and am curious if there are any plans in the works for better OpenGL modes?
By “Better”, I mean enhanced. I noticed that there is a live Ambient Occlusion going on now (looks great in most cases), and am wondering about things like water / tile / polished floor reflection (could use Screen Space for most cases).
Why do I wonder? RhinoCycles (and any other ray-tracer) will always be a ‘pause-and-wait’ method of viewing something. True, as technology gets faster, the pauses will be shorter, but I don’t think you’ll ever achieve the same REAL-TIME response rate as OpenGL (/DirectX) powered modes.
Just curious what is in the pipeline.
