AI model to workable subD workflow

Hi,

I wanted to ask if you have any experience transfering AI generated models to SubD that can be worked with for 3D printing etc.

Clients learned to send in 2D AI images, which is usually better than many other attempts at conveying the idea. I am trying to jump on the train and I play aroud with warious 3D AI webs. You can get good approximation of the 2D image in 3D which saves a lot of time in sketching. I then used shrinkwrap and quadremesh to SubD And got a very decent base to start off with.

What I struggle with is the use of guidelines or any other way to presuade the quad remesh to cooperate with creases, that are evident to a human but not Rhino, since the shrinkwrap mesh doesnt have creases. Also I think quadremesh in an organic shape could work a bit more with the adaptive size.

Do you have any tips, workflows or between-steps that help you in similar situations?

In the file is what I can get “without touching the model“ so you can pinpoint where I went wrong, haha!

I don’t think you’re going to get away with automating much of this process - you will have to model most of this manually and your fees should reflect that
