Adjusting curves

I recently had to create a three sided shape where each length of the three curves had to be a particular length, but loosely follow a given shape. I first created a triangle with each side the correct length. I then rebuilt the curves so each had three control points so I could move the curve into the desired shape. In doing this it changed the length of the curve. I then had to perform various offsets, moves, and trims to obtain the correct lengths and curve shapes.

Is there a function/command/means that the curve length does not change while its shape is changing? I understand that it’s end points would need to shift. And, if that is possible, can each of these “length locked” curves have their ends “locked” together so that as each curve is adjusted, it adjusts the other curves ends.

Thanks,

Adam

hi Adam, try FixedLengthCrvEdit that will not lock the ends unfortunately.

That’s an interesting command I didn’t know of. Thanks

Hi Encephalon,

Thank you, that worked to keep the length fixed. Will use that feature next time that design request is asked.

Thank you,

Adam
