How do we adjust Skylight INTENSITY ?

To balance against my light sources in the scene it looks from my ray traces like I will need a value between .5 and .8 How do I set it?
In my current situation: in the Render Panel the skylight value input field is greyed out reading 0.0. In the lighting panel it instantly reverts to 1.00 no matter what number is input. I have the backdrop set to a colour (not a custom environment).
Edit 1: Oh I see. Even if a custom environment isn’t chosen, the skylight is still adjustable only in the Envrinoment Panel. A bit counterintuitive, to me.
Edit 2: But those adjustments only have effect if a custom environment is active. (Also I had fog - of the default colour (a light grey) - active in the panel which displays the raytracing, which it turns out adds light to the scene. I had to deactivate that for adjustments near the value of 1 to have any effect.)
What sets the Skylight in the absence of a Custom Environment? Is it fixed at 1?
Depends, if you have a 360° environment set to one then that will be used. If you have only a solid background color and no custom environment in the skylight you won’t be able to set the intensity at the moment. This is true for Rhino 7 and Rhino 8 at this time of writing.
