Add HatchPatterns as Reference to RhinoDoc

Hello,
Does anyone know how I can add HatchPatterns to the ActiveDoc as Reference with ghpython? It should be similar to this method
https://developer.rhino3d.com/api/RhinoCommon/html/M_Rhino_DocObjects_Tables_LinetypeTable_AddReferenceLinetype.htm
wherein the Linetypes are not saved in the file and cannot be edited

Hi Dale,
I was thinking of restricting the access of the user to the HatchPatterns since they’re meant to be templates. Some kind of locking would also do I guess
