Xirus for Rhino: Subdivision, NURBS, polygons & augmented CAD

We have added a new video to our youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQGZsQU1xdk …it is a little bit closer to a real-world example. (Realistic examples will follow soon.)

Hi Rolf,

We won’t release an API in the near future since we are focusing our development efforts on the interactive use of Xirus.

Hello,

Is it possible to align and snap your surface control points to other geometry?

It is not (yet) implemented, but technically it is possible.

  1. Can you tell us what the typical problem is that you solve with the snap command?
  2. What do you mean by ‘other geometry’. NURBS, polys, something else?

Hello,

  1. If your tech is an extension of the work you’ve done at BIG the answer is not limited to a single problem solved, you’re solving more than one.

  2. Yes, I can see valuable application if Xirus geometry has the ability to snap to itself, NURBS, polys.

I think you have the opportunity to present a better way to create geometry than Rhino can currently offer. It’d be a shame if you tried to mimic your UX on Rhino or TSplines.

Innovation welcome.

Focus on specific numerical input, i.e. radius, etc, of aspects/elements/areas of the watertight subD form.

In the end, it is about how quickly can I iterate and ultimately achieve exactly what I want and or need.
