After looking more closely at VisualARQ’s Opening Elevation and Table tools, I think these could be combined into a complete Opening Schedule workflow.
Opening Elevation already provides the graphical representation, while Tables provide the BIM data and quantities. What I am missing is the final document.
Something like this:
The idea would be to select a group of openings (Doors, Exterior Windows, Interior Windows, etc.) and automatically generate a schedule grouped by Mark/Type, with configurable information such as:
- Mark / Quantity
- Opening representation
- Description / custom note
- Width / Height
- Area per element / Total area
- Opening side
- Grand total
The opening representation doesn’t need to be to scale; it could simply fit proportionally inside a predefined frame. For detailed drawings, the existing Opening Elevation already does the job.
The schedule could include Project, Type, Author, Date/ Revision, with automatic pagination for A4, Letter etc. (data provided by the user)
Two outputs would be useful:
Generate in Model Space — like Opening Elevation, for use in Rhino layouts.
Export to PDF — automatically paginated and ready to print.
This would bring together the graphical information already available in Opening Elevation and the BIM information already available in Tables into a fast and reliable workflow.
For fully custom schedules, the existing Tables would remain the flexible solution.
