I can turn them on and off with the panel, but I always forget where this setting is in the display mode…
AFAIK this is an anachronism as that particular setting doesn’t exist under Options|View|Display Modes.
Maybe because you have the thickness option under ...|Objects|Surfaces
which used to be just below the Visibility settings (in R5?) and was felt to do a similar job?
Setting the thickness to 0 effectively turns the edges off. But…
Unchecking the setting in the display panel does not set the thickness to 0, so re-checking it restores the original set thickness. So the on/off setting is stored somewhere.
To me it doesn’t make sense to have a toggle setting in the panel without having a similar toggle somewhere in the display modes settings.
I agree - that’s why I called it an anachronism.
