Wasp Plug in ISSUES

Hi everybody! I’m new on this platform and also to Grasshopper programme.

I’ve tried to install the Plug-in “WASP” and followed both the video tutorial and the installation text available inside the downloaded folder.
Unfortunately it still gives me this message: 1. Cannot import Wasp. Is the wasp folder available in C:\Users\Utente\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries? ; and even if I’ve tried to put a less recent version of the plug in, It still doens’t work.

I hope someone about the community might be helping me with this issue.

Thank you in advance!

Welcome @Tecla,

You seem to have installed Wasp the right way.

In your second screenshot, your path is C:\Utenti\Utente\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries, whereas Wasp seems to be looking in C:\Users\Utente\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries, so it could potentially be a bug that has to do with OS localization.

What do you think, @ar0551?

stupid question  did you unblock the zip file before extracting its content?

Yes, and I’ve also checked every single file to be unlocked

as I imagined  I had to ask…

I have just reinstalled wasp from scratch using the last version available on github: v5.004
and it works without any problem in my machine

but there’s something weird:

this is your screenshot of that folder:

this is mine:

why is there a wasp.py file inside yours? and the size is very different?

maybe was there a previous installation of wasp that was merged inside the very same folder?

I would delete the wasp folder entirely and redo the whole process from this source, it worked for me

Thanks for your help!
I’ve just followed your advices as you can see in the pics but still having the same issues!

this is SO WEIRD

there’s an option to add custom Libraries folders to GH, in such a way GH will look in this places for additional plugins… it’s through the Rhino command line GrasshopperDeveloperSettings

I would try to do some weird experiments like putting your wasp folder in C: and using GrasshopperDeveloperSettings to add just that one folder C:\wasp to the list

if it works, then the problem might be related to the Users/Utenti folder name?
but it’s odd because I also have windows in Italian and Rhino in English, and I’ve never experienced that kind of problem…

[edit] are you on Rhino 7?

Uhm, this is very strange, and might indeed have something to do with the paths not being somehow set correctly when language is changed. I think the easiest would be for me to take a look. Just send me an email at ghwasp@gmail.com, and we can try to fix the issue.

Hello, everyone

Just found out I have the same problem.

Do you have any clue as to why this might be?

Thank you

Hey just jumping in here. You need to cut the ‘wasp’ folder out of the main folder stating the wasp version. ie. out of ‘Wasp_0_6_001’ and paste ‘wasp’ that into the Components folder
