Hi!
I haven’t bumped into this for a long time, but now it seems that when I want to export to pdf in vector, the hatches are on top of other linework after export. The only way to fix it is to change the draw order, but the scary thing is that print doesn’t correspond with display preview. Or are there some things that can affect this? Transparency, far from origin, other things that one might check?
Below are two screenshots. The first one shows what I see, the second one is a snippet from a PDF. The hatches clearly cover everything else. Even though the display shows it correctly. Draw order is a fix, but the problem is that pdf export doesn’t give what I see, so it is a try-error approach.
I have the same issue which is driving me crazy in the final two weeks of my MA thesis, so any help is really appreciated!
In Layout view with PrintDisplay activated the drawing and display order is fine as far as I can tell. But when exporting the PDF, the Hatch overlays almost every line.
The layer with the grey hatch is lower than any of the other curves.
First screenshot taken from Layout Preview with PrintDisplay turned on.
Drawing order Hatches and Curves - #7 by scottd Here’s a good overview of the general concept in Rhino but as this links to another thread/question of mine, I have to tell you that the whole drawing order and producing really good drawings is not the strongest side of Rhino unfortunately.
And yes, my whole drawing is based on blocks and nested blocks → Something that I love about Rhino and makes my ArchiCAD friends envy Rhino.
Dang it i thought so. I currently had problems with drawing order of blocks too.
Sometimes it helps to go into the block and change the drawing order inside of the block.
Only BringtoFront and SendtoBack!
In case you run close to your deadline, explode the block and set the new drawing order that works most of the time without trouble. But it destroys the Structure
