V7 curve interpolate points doesnt offer start tangent

Hi,
Trying to use V7.
again and again I choose my fav curve tool as I start and end tangent drawing with it, I am in ortho, and its not giving me the options that that tool gave in V5.

It should offer Start Tangent and instead it says Pick point, completely different start to the tool in V5.

It doesnt then offer start tangent if I do pick a point.

I cant draw anything.

I need to continue in V5 I guess.

I needed to get this thing drawn asap and thought must try V7, damn !

I am going save as V5, will that be ok or prone to gremlins ?
Its to be placed into a complex existing project of V5 which I was hoping instead to bring into V7.

I dont want to cause problems in what was a stable file.

This is not going well, already done my back in far too many weeks at PC and V7 migration and CAD.
Now a cripple.

Hello - set SubDFriendly=No to get the tangent options back.

Hi Pascal,
Its a bit tricky setting that as normally I just went in and chose start tangent.
Took me 3 goes to get that to then offer that start tangent with SubDFriendly=No as pre existing.

I wish it had been as default.

Meanwhile I have exported as V5 to solve it and work instead on the project in V5 now.

I didnt think V7 took away settings we had as default in V5.

What other defailt settings were altered as I need to reinstate them else V7 is going to be placing hurdles in my path removing what I used as default settings.
