Two overlapping curves intersect two points instead of one curve

I tried to use the intersect command to find the intersection curve between two curves. it was supposed to return the line segment, but I got two points instead. I wonder what happened here.
(Have tried adjusting unit precision to both directions, but no luck.)

works here.

I think you are not going back and selecting the resulting curve but are just seeing the cv’s of the resulting curve

Hi - Thank you for the quick response! Were you using Rhino 7 or 8?
I tested both, it works on 8, fails on 7.

I see that here with your file, yes. It looks like this issue got fixed at some point in Rhino 8.
