Dear all,
I colored the minor grid lines same color as background to make them invisible. I don’t need them, as I use the major ones only as reference where the current C-Plane is located in space.
Is there a way to turn them off completely?

Turn them off completely, no. You can set the major and minor gridlines to the same color and set the major gridline count to 1 - that will effectively do what you want.
Note that grid settings are file-specific, so you would need to do that in all your templates and then re-save them.
