Triangular Parametric Facade PLS HELPP

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to create this kind of perforated triangular parametric facade system for some curved surfaces, with a frame thickness of around 200–300 mm.

I managed to generate this pattern on a simple circular surface, but I’m unable to increase the frame thickness beyond about 30 mm without running into error messages.

Additionally, I haven’t been able to successfully apply the same façade pattern onto my curve surfaces and rectangular surface (my facade panel). The triangular head will be inclined towards interior.

I’ve attached my working file below. Since, I’m still quite new to Grasshopper and may be misunderstanding some steps, I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions you may have. Thank you for your time.

Try doing something like this maybe

OMG didn’t notice that lol

Hi, thank you so much for your suggestion. It was really helpful. I managed to understand the logic much better. May I also ask how I can extrude the frame properly, and whether there’s a way to create random perforations on the panels as well? I’d really appreciate any further guidance. Thank you again.

To extrude the frame, I would probably feed it to a Simple Mesh and then use Weaverbird’s Thicken - when baked, doing an Unweld to get the sharp edges to show up again

As for random perforations, there’s many ways to do that - is there something specific you have in mind?

They see me rollin…
