Transfer Rhino settings to a new computer

New computer day!
I’d like to transfer as much as I could from the old one to the new. I looked around in Rhino in the help file. Not very conclusive.
A search here got me results from 2020 and they were not conclusive.

I found:
Tools > Export options
Tools > Export RUI

After I exported the RUI file, what I should do with it? There’s no “import RUI file” to be found…

use a clone from the original.

Go to options, toolbars, file, open…

Just copy the entire settings folder from one computer to the other, plus any non default.rui you might have created. That should do it.

Hi Mitch,
Do you have the location of this settings folder for Windows?
I’m looking into C:\Users\MyUsername\ and there’s no Rhino-related folder there…

Edit:
Ok, they were hidden of course…
C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\

Sorry Marc, was out today, looks like you found it though…

I just had the same issue. Exported the toolbars, imported them to a new computer.

Any icon you replaced on any default toolbars did not transfer over.

My custom toolbars had their icons rearranged in the wrong order.

Oh, and also exported and imported the options… checked all boxes on import… first thing I see, my custom thickness and distance on the gumball did not transfer over.

Any other info on doing this?

Had to get a new Mac as Office365 EOL’d support for OS 12.x (what my old Mac Pro was running on, and I was having all kinds of problems like not being able to search emails, teams messaging losing track of what was sent and what wasn’t, excel was dumping formula contents on saves, all kinds of stuff.

So a new Mac studio showed up today and I need to get all my rhino stuff over to the new box and it’s not super clear as to what all to do.

There’s a wiki thing Mitch did a while back but most of it is marked as “old” and apparently NLA.
