Hi all,

I have some issues with the toolbar in Rhino 8.

  1. Saving is not consistent succesfull. When reopening the toolbar changes are not there. I’ve tried saveas and exporting(*.rui)+reopening the toolbar.
  2. The text in the command part of the button does not always stick. It can be deleted.
  3. The position of the buttons is not consistent on the same spot.
  4. Today I spotted the below issue. I’ve used (so far as I know) only vector based images. Because mixing vector based and PNG scrambled the toolbar even more.
  5. While creating a button I’m a bit confused while naming. Because a button is named twice when using left and right mousebutton option.

The errors do not occur consitent so its hard to reproduce. But they happen frequently and it’s taking a lot of time to get it right.

Maybe I’m doing things wrong, let me know if thats the case.

if anything, it’s not you doing things wrong.
A lot of fixes have been made to the toolbar since Rhino 8 has been released, so let’s first start by making sure you are running the latest version of Rhino. Pls run _SystemInfo in Rhino and post back the results.
If possible, share (by pm):
-the rui file
-the xml file in %appdata%/mcneel/rhinoceros/8.0/settings/Scheme_Default that has a name that uses the rui file name, if present.
