The Architect is Dead - New Chapter by David Rutten

Hello all!

In order to mark the release of David Rutten’s chapter “The Inevitable & Utter Demise of the Entire Architecture Profession” in the endless online publication The Architect is Dead (thearchitectisdead.com), I’m making this unusual post to encourage a little reading, some discussion and exchange of ideas, as well as share a little bit about the free literary project.

The online publication, which was published earlier this month provokes the exploration of the spectrum of anxiety and excitement in the historically “recent” relationship between the architectural profession and relentless technological advancement. Architects, artists, programmers, philosophers, pioneers (old and new), historians, and many more, gather in this platform to provide discursive insight on the present state and potential future of a profession which for so much history relied solely on humans. The eclectic collection, which will continue to grow through new chapters weekly, provokes its writers and readers through a Nietzschean deification of the architect as the central figure of creation in its profession, and how this notion is challenged through the pervasive availability of new tools and technology which propel the profession forward.

Every week or so a new chapter is released by new contributors.

Hope you enjoy, and all the best!
