Subtraction on Text field

Hi,

Is it possible to do a subtraction on a text field? For instance, I am using a text field in my layouts to get the total number of pages and the current page number. However, I am using a set of template layouts and would like to keep them in the document but they throw off these counts.

is there a way to subtract from the text field %% and %% the number of template pages i have so it only shows the count of pages i want?
