Smooth Curve from Rounded Data Points (Mold Loft Data)

Here is an extract of data from mold loft tables giving the height of the sheer strake In reality, the top of the sheer strake is a smooth continuous curve. However, when rounded to the nearest 1/16" you get a visible, stepped appearance.

Does anyone have a simple solution to fitting a curve through data like this such that:

  1. There are no inflection points in the curve; and
  2. The curve is within some specified tolerance of the the input point set.

Creating a polyline with the offset points, and then using FitCrv might be useful. Experimentation with the tolerance setting is usually needed, and sometimes direct control point manipulation is required. No guarantees though.
