We’re developing an advanced Grasshopper workflow for slicing and 3D printing footwear using TPU, and we’re looking for someone with experience in custom G-code generation to join our team.
Project Scope
Development of custom Grasshopper scripts for model slicing and toolpath generation
Creation and optimization of G-code specifically for TPU material
Material behavior analysis and print parameter optimization
Integration of findings into automated workflows
Technical Requirements
Strong proficiency in Grasshopper scripting
Experience with custom G-code generation and modification
Understanding of FDM 3D printing principles and slicing parameters
Ability to analyze and optimize material-specific printing parameters
We’re actively conducting material tests to characterize foaming TPU’s behavior during printing. This understanding will inform the development of our custom slicing and G-code generation workflows.
Collaboration Type
Contract/consulting basis
Remote collaboration possible
Timeline and compensation to be discussed based on experience

I have relevant experience in 3D printing with different types of materials, making custom G-code scripts in RH & GH and 3D printing shoes. if you are interested, we can schedule a meeting. farzadfarzadnia1@gmail.com
I worked in 3D-printed footwear design and manufacturing for five years, with hands-on experience in printing TPU, both consumer and proprietary materials. My work included design, optimizing printer hardware, refining G-code for flexible materials, and developing Grasshopper workflows. While most of my recent Grasshopper work has been in other areas, I’m comfortable creating advanced scripts and automation tools.
I’d be happy to chat and see if my experience is a good fit for your project. Let me know if you’d like to connect.
Thank-you for the job posting - it sounds very like a very interesting opportunity.
For the past few years I have been working in the robotic 3D printing space where I have exclusively used grasshopper scrips for G-code generation and geometry analysis.
Prior to this I was working as an industrial designer across a range of scales from architecture to product design.
