Section Tool Workflow and assigning attributes

Thank you for the new implementation of the Section Tool in Rhino 8. Good work!
Over the past few days, while testing out the new features of Rhino 8, I also tried to establish a practical workflow using the new section tools.
The first thing I really struggled with was the concept of assigning attributes such as Hatch Style, Color, and Linetype to section drawings.

The cut surface appears to be controlled by the “Objects Layers”. On the other hand, all the drawing lines that represent the uncut surfaces appear to be managed through the “Drawing Layer”. However, this distinction is not entirely clear and well-separated; it’s just the understanding I have gathered about how it seems to function?

I illustrate these concerns through two screenshots. Look at the colors.

To establish a non-destructive workflow for attribute assignment, I believe it would be most effective to assign attributes directly through the “Objects Layers”. In this sense, you would have control over all sections through just a few layers.

I’ve been all over the forum and am glad I found this post. As an Architect, having control over line weights in the final layout/document production is crucial. As of right now, the section tools are a great start but essentially useless for drawing completion as all layer information beyond hatch is lost. If there is a way to preserve all layer information for the objects generated from dynamic sections, that would be an incredible improvement!
