Dear all,

in the new script editor i cant replace words in the “search field” by new words:

When i click on replace or replace all, nothing happens. Is this a bug?

Sry, the replace works fine. Somehow the search field didnt show any search results. Cant replicate this problem any more TT

Got the problem again:

What am i doing wrong?

@peter.zock Hi. Would you mind testing this in the latest 8.20 and see if the problems persist? It would also be great if you can give me a set of steps to replicate the problem.

Unfortunately, I already had problems to replicate this problem in the first place. This morning, I have tried the seach field in version 8.19 as well as 8.20. So far, I couldn’t find any problems. I guess you can see this as fixed;

Hello Ehsan. I can confirm this has been a persistent bug for me as well. I had versions 8.19 and just installed 8.20, this happens in both.

Usually the first few replaces work fine, then it stops working.

I have a few libraries installed usually use multiple python components in the same file.

Okay let test locally and I will try to replicate

I took a screen recording of the issue.
In some cases like the first try, simply no detection happens and the button is unresponsive.
In other cases there are a few (W:pyflakes) errors.

I’m not sure if this helps, but the issue seems to also be associated (at least in this case) with scripts that have errors and can’t execute, or with scripts where raise Error functions where activated.

Having the same issue. I get correct search results, but search and replace does not work! Using 8SR18 up to date as of 7/15/25

The latest version of Rhino 8 is SR21.

Thanks, for some reason I had to restart for Rhino to see the update (tried an update on startup and it said I was up to date). After installing SR21 the issue is indeed fixed, thanks!
