Rhino8 makes a second object Boolean Difference should be just one

Hi, see attached, Boolean difference the red from the blue (to leave blue with trimmed end) and instead I can then see a choice of two objects when clicking the blue one.
Rhino5 would simply trim the sharp corner off in the same command.

Why must Boolean Difference make a second object. Not what I am used to.

I am trying to fix a non manifold that Rhino8 doesn’t declare, but other progs do,
This tip needs removing.

First use of Rhino 8, and this, as well as the undeclared non manifold issue, its a little unsettling,… use 8 as unable to export my object from 8 to 5.
boolean differnce creates an extra object Rhino8.3dm (2.2 MB)

Cheers

Hi Steve -

-wim

yes its annoying, also when applying a ‘Cap’ we are now getting a copy :man_shrugging:t4:, @wim would this need a separate thread ?

By default, DeleteInput=yes for caps, afaik. The setting is sticky between sessions though, so if you changed it to no, it will stay like that until you change it.
