I dragged the “Standard” tab to make it a floating panel, and subsequently closed it. Now the tab is lost on my Toolbar. How do I get it back?

If you are running rhino 8.5-
tool>options>toolbars
find standard in the list and add a check to it-
then dock that panel wherever you want (or float it)
or you can run the reset command and return it to factory defaults.
Thanks Kyle, but I managed to loose all of them now…
What does resetting to the factory defaults actually reset? Am I going to loose the changes I made to the Alias’?
yes, but you can export your aliases, then reimport them.
tools>options>aliases>export to file (small gear icon dropdown at the bottom of the dialog box)
then reset to factory defaults, then
tools>options>aliases> import aliases (same gear icon)
It’s a good idea to do this anyways so you have a copy of them somewhere. I keep a copy of mine in a dropbox or google drive for just such an emergency, or if I need to do a demo on a machine that is not mine, because I look like a stumbling idiot without my hotkeys…
The Window drop down menu > Window Layouts flyout should also let you restore the default layout.
Hi Guys,
I went the reset to default way. Coming from Rhino5 (for Mac), I feel insecure to customize the UI because of unknown terminology, containers, toolbars and panels feels very unfamiliar. Can you recommend a good tutorial on this? Today’s incidents do not boost my confidence…
Thanks anyway,
Max.
P.S. I am also still seeking a way to get a customized popup under my cursor. I use a Magic Mouse, so I will have to use an Alias to initiate it.
