This happens so many times, especially around car fenders that are supposed to be smooth… It’s also a bug related to the “Extract render mesh” command. It destroys the smooth shading of certain polysurfaces.
Years ago I proposed to implement an approach similar to “Smoothing groups” in 3ds Max (the ability to assign individual shading properties to select polygons), but still nothing…
I think I have it in a trash or backup layer this project design was changed later so not sure it exists or i deleted it will have to check in the morning
Will post it soon if I have it why do you want to see that?
I think it’s healthy to just accept how things are sometimes and try making the best of the situation even if I wish things could work better or implemented
Surely we have all felt like screaming internally and dying then slowly decaying into the void of anger at times
But on a positive note a new monitor goes on sale every now and then and it’s less expensive than a brand new PC..
I’m not sure where I’m going with this but beats doing any school work right now.
JAJAJA Absolutlly. I pay $3000 for a chicken door instead of a GPU.
I sold 3,700,000,000 RhinoCoins and finally treated myself to the latest 8K/120Hz TV as a monitor to run Rhino 9 WIP.
I turned it on, full of hope, and the first thing that appeared, crystal clear in ultra-high-definition…
my own bug reports from 2002, still unresolved.
At least now I can admire every pixel of my suffering
A developer may fix 1 bug a day. Within a year, such a developer has 200 productive days. McNeel may only hire 5 full-time bugfixer, so you can expect 1000 bugs being fixed a year under best conditions.
In 24 years and some positive side-effects you ideally fix 24000±5000 bugs out of 60000+. This explains why between 30-40% of your bug-list is resolved.
If you stop reporting bugs now, your list will be fixed in the year 2063 for Rhino 8 and you might enjoy passing away with all issues resolved.
Only if you are younger than 25, it pays off to complain about Rhino 9.
Not sure if you are aware, but that is part of the WIP process. We test out new stuff but there will always be things that don’t make the cut. That being said, see my comment in the Zebra thread
