Rhino Flow-RT - Wind Analysis of a City Block

Rhino Flow-RT is a plug-in for Rhino for anyone looking for a quick, easy, inexpensive way to perform both external and internal fluid flow analysis. You do not have to be an engineer to use it. It works very well.

Within less than 15 minutes, you can analyze wind flow through or around most 3D models including buildings, vehicles, vehicle components, outdoor structures, pipes, ducts, etc.

Fantastic! Does it work for a vegetation mass? I’d like to try it out with a forest made with Lands Design.

If you modeled the trees as cones and ellipsoids, then it would work provided you did not have too many trees (perhaps 40 to 60 or even 100). It might be able to handle more, but we haven’t tried it. It wouldn’t not work for a vegetation mass if you modeled all of the leaves as it would be too computationally intensive. If you have modeled or are modeling the trees as cones and ellipsoids, you are welcome to request a trial version so that you can try it. Just email me at rblair@virtura3d.com to request the trial.

Thanks Richard. In Lands, there is an option that let us to change plant models to a “conceptual” model easily which are cones, spheres, etc. I will try it using conceptual form of plants. Hope it works. Will write you directly for the trial.
